Ingredients
1/4 cup unsalted margarine melted
 
1 1/2 cup bread cubes day-old
 
4-5 cup tart apple slices
 
3/4 cup brown sugar
 
1 tsp cinnamon
 
1/4 tsp Windsor® Half Salt™
 
2 tbsp lemon juice
 
1/3 cup water
 

 

Preparation
  1. Mix melted margarine with bread cubes.
  2. Combine the apples with sugar, cinnamon and salt.
  3. Place 1/3 of the bread cubes in the bottom of a greased 2-quart casserole.
  4. Cover with half the apples.
  5. Repeat, then top that layer with last third of bread cubes.
  6. Combine lemon juice and water and pour over all.
Cooking
  1. Cover. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  2. Uncover, bake 30 minutes more.
