SWEET AND SALTY SPICE RUB
Make the ordinary extraordinary! This traditional blend of spices, mixing sweet with salty, is great for chicken and red meats.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp Windsor® Kosher Salt or Windsor® Coarse Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
- optional red chili flakes (to taste)

Recipe Preparation
For the Sweet and Salty Spice Rub
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
For the Chicken
- Toss chicken drumsticks in the spices and refrigerate for 30 minutes to one hour before cooking.
- Place on a lined baking sheet and bake in oven at 400°F (200°C) for 40 to 45 minutes, turning after 20 minutes.
- You can also grill on the barbecue, turning frequently until done.
For the Beef & Lamb
- Brush meat with olive oil, then rub the spice mixture on the meat and let sit for half an hour.
- Grill to desired doneness.
